Farida Amadou Research Artist

Farida Amadou is a musician, performer based in Brussels, Belgium. The electric bass has been her main instrument since 2011. In 2013, she started to play a lot of different musical genres, including blues, jazz and hip-hop.

She has performed with Linda Sharrock, John Dikeman, Julien Desprez, Ava Mendoza, Mette Rasmussen and punk formation Cocaine Piss, among others.

In May 2018, she started a new duo project with the drummer Steve Noble, including trio collaborations with Alex Ward on clarinet, Chris Pitsiokos on saxophone, ex Sonic Youth’s guitarist Thurston Moore on guitar and recently with the free jazz pionier Peter Brötzmann.

In 2020, she released "00:29:10:02" her first solo album and a second one a few months later « Reading Eyes and Facial Expressions », released on Takuroku, London based Café Oto's digital label.
